PORT OF ENTRY..

Morning Glories !

Whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy ...meditate on these things
Philippians 4:8

Well my dears ..I took a few moments while I'm cramming down a bite to eat ..I've been so very busy getting ready for my next show Port of Entry ..this Sunday ..Aug 28th...I wasn't planning on having so many of my items sell at the Canal Fest ...(I'm not complaining mind you ) but to try and get enough things together to sell at this big show in exactly one month ..well to say the least ..it's been quite the challenge ...First ..I had to find the items ..from garage sales..flea markets....thrift stores..curbside courtesy ..and my new favorite the auction on Thursday evenings...Ive gotten some great items from them to sell at my next show ..I hope you like them as much as I do ..it's going to be hard for me to even let go of some of the beauties I've found this time !! Then I had to clean sand and prep all the pieces ..then prime ..then paint..and some pieces got distressed...one piece in particular was a pr of lamps ..they were in a 3 dollar box full of things from the auction..I wanted something else in the box ..and didn't really care about the lamps ..but I took a second look ..the lamps were a man on one and a woman on the other ..dressed in the French period clothing..made out of what looks like plaster ..very French and Shabby Chic ..but the man had a broken foot and the woman was cracked in half and I could see her head also had been glued back on ..they sat in the box for a few days ..and I picked them up to toss in the trash ....but I just couldn't do it ...I thought ..I will give them a shot ..as they smiled back at me ..I took my wood putty and my awesome epoxy glue and went to work ..gluing and shaping ..then sanding and carving ..the faces and clothes paint came off a bit and some of it was chipped away ..and I couldn't repaint the faces and clothes (because I'm not that kind of artist ..lol) so they both got a beautiful coat of glossy white paint...not too bad at all ! Now I need to find them the perfect lampshades ..and possibly put some fringe or white roses on them ..maybe some pearls or lace ..the possibilities are really endless !
But it always brings me back to remember ..I too was that broken lady and I felt like I was tossed out from this world ..but for Jesus and His amazing Love and tender care ..He took me in and gave me a brand new life full of love and joy and peace ..and so much creativity ..and everything I do ..is all because of Him ...I love Him so ! Thank You Lord for your tender mercies and your grace ! Well it's time to get back to work ..Ive still got so much to do for this show ..and my next one in Sept ..I'll post that one later ...time to get painting ..see you Sunday I hope !
Blessings & Peace ,
Tracy

  1. I just wanted to say that I was glad to see a new vendor at the Port of Entry show. Especially one that sells WHITE. I am the woman who bought the music sheet candels and the white stool. I hope to see you at more local shows and I am sorry I didn't make it to Canal Fest, you have some great pieces. Stop over and visit me at arborhouselane.blogspot.com
